like I told you in yesterday’s post: I have been experimenting with things I haven’t worked with before, this goes for my love for all things neon ✨🌈✨🌈 it’s such a needed fresh addition & one of my favorite projects of these last months is this neon/marble table I build with my brother 💪🏻🤩 usually I get messages from women, but this table has flooded my mailbox with questions, mostly from men... I wonder why, but go ahead & ask away, I might do a post on this table later... not only because I do get so many questions regarding this DIY, but also because he is so special to my heart & is the ONLY thing in my household that even has a name... we called him FLOPPY @kitschcanmakeyourich #iicfavouriteinteriorcolour #favouriteinteriorcolour

But this month Lilli’s @kitschcanmakeyourich #instagraminteriorchallenge starts & I wouldn’t want to miss it for the world... ♥️I am joining today’s topic ‘ME’ #iicme with a blurry self portrait because I simply love the loss of control it shows. While I can totally relate to the passions that arise over the loss of control I also believe that so many of us, myself included, made the honest mistake to have lost touch with chaos. But life is to be lived, not to be controlled. And we were never in control anyways. So when the real becomes unreal and the unreal becomes real, my life, my work, my art turn to chaos... accepting this has been the most liberating form to deal with this surreal situation & feels like an act of surrendering to find strength within...

lost myself in the studio for the past few weeks... curious to see what I have been up to?

🙋🏻‍♀️Every day in my early childhood felt like I was living on the edge of an existential crisis. I don’t come from money. Growing up in the Ukraine we didn’t have much. In fact, we had very little. If I asked for something apart from elementary needs, the sentence I heard the most was: ‘We can’t afford that.’ I’ve always been someone who took things literally so I fell for the belief that there was not enough money in the world. You can imagine that I build many misconceptions & fears around the topic of money. Even though I wasn’t gifted with a lot of materialistic things, I was gifted w/ some truly important virtues: resilience and the fact that every crisis is an opportunity in disguise. No matter the challenge, I learned that there is always a chance for growth ♥️ My family always found the most creative ways to support themselves & never failed to built a safe home. This safety didn’t come from materialistic things but from the very sense of belonging & from combining all of our united powers & talents. When we moved to Germany I never took the new found freedom & chances for granted, I always returned to my roots: investing all I had to continue to create a safe home: I still try to build everything from scratch, yes, with my own hands: I even plastered all the walls + ceilings in my apartment. Some of you know that I am a lover of all things beautiful and a big collector: 90% of all of my interior is vintage. If I buy new things, I religiously stick to the best quality to avoid waste in order to save resources, with the hope for the piece to last for the next few generations. I love how beauty and design can uplift the energy of a place and change your mood for the better. In uncertain times like these I find myself working on my art & on my nest even more. Being at home makes me finish every project, I started creating like crazy, painting, taking portraits again. Exploring new creative fields, positivity & endurance - that's me coping, a mantra that can feel like an escape because I still feel powerless at times… But then again, most of the times it feels like a band-aid. ♥️Please tell me: am I alone with all that geeking around, nesting?!

The first time I saw a Barcelona chair it felt like I was not gonna love a chair ever again. Today you experience a ‚never say never moment‘ - for those who know me well: I was convinced that orange only looks good on me but not in my apartment.
