today was the first sunny day in the studio again & working felt much better ♥️ hello, new year 🥳 hello, new adventures 🙋🏻‍♀️

Yesterday’s post flooded me with heartfelt messages & I couldn’t be happier that you are here & listen ♥️ still, I couldn’t help but notice lots of resentment at the end of this year💔 please, don’t end this year on a negative note! The love you have to give might be unconditional. But your energy and powers have limits. Choose connections that reward you with the same unconditional love & allow you to grow. Surround yourself with people who love you just as much as you love them. Be patient with those who can’t show you their full potential yet but don’t allow anyone to pull that devine energy that you were given to create greatness. Let everyone go who takes advantage of your good nature and is not ready to fly with you. Heartbreak, sorrow and disappointment will always be a part of our lives. It’s up to us how we deal with all of this. Allow yourself to be sad and to feel lost. But also allow yourself to grow from it&let it lift you. You are worthy of all the love that you want to give and that you want to receive! Of course we can’t control the events of life, but we can allow ourselves to be happy with what we have. And just remember when you think about the ones who have hurt you: they would be kinder to you if they could. Simple as that: if they could, they would! But some just can’t or don’t want to and it’s not up to you to change them. In the end everything we all want is to give love and to be loved. It’s all up to us alone to value that sacred love we carry for the world to see and please don’t let resentment and bitterness fill your heart. Otherwise you won’t be able to give and receive the love you so desperately want♥️♥️♥️ focus on the great new stuff that is ahead of you. Have a brilliant start to the new year! Love, A.

I’ve said this a few posts before&these words are a perfect closure for 2018 too!In 2019 I choose to live with an open heart to reach my most authentic state of being. To me, this means being equally receptive to love&loss, to pleasure&pain. So here’s to 2019 &to all of the unknown joy&pain every day will bring!✨ Here you see one of my STARGIRLS, creating them meant pushing myself further artistically&personally than I’ve ever been.Originally these STARGIRLS were NEVER meant to be published! Illustrating them has been my very personal way to bring back beauty to my life,in very dark times. But let’s start from the beginning: I feel colors. I see music. I hear flavors. I taste feelings. A state I have always been aware of&cultivated as an artist. Sounds romantic? Sure was, until life got in the way. One painful loss followed another. And another. And another. And another. And another. And another. And another...I didn't realize that I was slowly shutting down all of my loud emotions. Unconsciously, I tried to be immune towards all of the negative emotions all these losses had made me feel. Ironically this made me immune to positive feelings, too.I realized that my self-protection was poisonous&felt so distant from my true self. My creativity suffered, not being able to use the gifts that I was given seemed like the biggest betrayal. I knew that I had to let go of my armor and felt the urgent need to lean into the power of art again. Art has always been my way to communicate with the world and to connect with YOU, it had the superpower to nurture my soul. So I started illustrating exposed bodies and after having shared a few sketches with my friends I was convinced to publish the STARGIRLS. I am happy that I did…They are an intimate exploration of how life can feel - but simultaneously their strong lines have the transformational l energy to create meaning: it's up to YOU to fill this crack in space and time with purpose! I filled this void with beauty!I hope this story moves you to draw inspiration from all of the brightness and darkness this world has to offer! Make 2019 beautiful and meaningful,face it with grace and an open heart! Love, A. ♥️
